Amy Williams, AJS Co-Conductor

Amy Williams

Amy Williams, a graduate of La Cueva High School, is an alumna of the AYS Program. Amy earned her Bachelor of Music Education in 1992 from New Mexico State University and a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting in 1994 from the University of Oregon. She has taught band in the El Paso, Gadsden, Rio Rancho and Albuquerque school districts. Currently, she is the Associate Director of Bands at Desert Ridge Middle School.

Under her baton, Amy's ensembles have consistently received outstanding accolades at concerts and festivals. Amy is in demand as a clinician and adjudicator; she has also served as the Middle School Band Vice-President for District VII. Amy and her husband Darrick (a former music educator and trumpet player) have two sons, Joshua and Thomas. Joshua also joins the AYS Program as a trombonist in AJO this year.
